Overview

Northcross is a double-streamed Primary school (K-6) with more than 370 students. We are a ministry of the Ryde Baptist Church and our vision as a school is to shape lives that change the world. Please click here to see further information regarding our mission and values.

Due to the high volume of Kindergarten applications, not everyone will get an interview.

When considering interview offers, some things we take into consideration are:

  • Siblings of current and past students of Northcross
  • Family links with a church
  • Willingness to be a part of our Christ-centred community

Application & Enrolment Steps

1 Submit application Forms

Up to 2 years before your child is due to start school. The non-refundable Application Fee due is used to cover the administrative costs associated with processing your child’s application. Submission of an application form does not ensure an interview will be offered.

By April, in the year prior to starting school, we will contact applicants to confirm you are still keen to proceed with the application.

3 Interview or Waitlist

By the end of May, we will contact applicants to advise if you have an interview or remain on the waitlist. Interviews happen in May and June, and do not automatically guarantee an offer of enrolment.

4 Offer of place

You will be notified of the outcome after all interviews are complete.

How do I apply for my child to attend Northcross? Please see the section above "How to Apply" for a link to the online application form and information of the Documents required.
What happens after I have submitted my Enrolment Application for Kindergarten and paid the Application Fee?We will contact you the year before your child is due to commence to confirm that you are still keen to progress with the application – usually in April. We also will advise you of the process for interviews and selection. The interviews usually occur during May in the year before the child is due to commence. Note: Due to the high volume of applications for kindergarten, not everyone will get an interview and may be placed on a waiting list. We will advise either way.
When will I learn if my child has been offered a place if they are on the waiting list?We will contact you the year before your child is due to start (see previous question). If you have missed out on a place for Kindergarten in the first round, we will contact you as soon as a place becomes available and confirm your interest in taking up a place at Northcross. If you wish to proceed, then an interview will be organised.
Can I apply for other years apart from Kindergarten?Yes you can. Please contact the Registrar to discuss your Application. There may not be places available for the year that you are applying for but this can be confirmed with you at the time of applying.
Is there an entrance exam for students? No. We are a non-selective school and therefore do not have an entrance exam. There is an interview with the Principal and a screening session for your child to check their readiness for school and if there are any specific needs for your child.
Can my child attend Northcross if they are an overseas student? No, we do not accept overseas students. They need to be an Australian Citizen or have an approved Australian visa. Please click here for more information on the Documents required.
Can we apply at Northcross if we don’t attend a church or are not Christians? As we are a Christian School, it is important to us to uphold our Christian values. All our staff are Christians and have an active and real faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. You are welcome to apply, but you must fully support our Christian teachings, values and ethos.
Do current siblings get priority for placements?Yes they do. However, you will still need to apply for each child to be enrolled and an Application Fee needs to be paid.
What format and information do you need for our Pastor’s Reference? If you currently attend a church, you will need to include a church reference from your Pastor/Minister. Please see link above to download a reference template.
For families that regularly attend RBC, we will be in contact with the Pastoral Team to discuss your application and to verify whether you are active and established at RBC. This is in lieu of the church reference template.
